Two Events of the Minority Fun Games Held by Our School Gong Successfully

Onthe afternoon of March 24th, the Minority Fun Games of the “EnteringUniversity” series for primary and secondary school students were held at theNanhu playground in our school. The Games were co-organized by the UniversityCity Construction Service Office of Hongshan District and the News Broadcast ofWuhan Broadcasting and Television Station, hosted by South-Central University forNationalities, and held by the School of Foreign Languages, with the aim ofpublicizing ethnic characteristics, expanding the horizons of primary andsecondary school students, enriching their relevant knowledge, and laying thefoundation for their aspirations.

Theactivities held by our school were bamboo dance of Li Nationality and boardshoes racing of Zhuang Nationality. The relaxing and cheerful music of bamboodance attracted a large number of participants and audience. On the scene, twostaff members dressed in ethnic costumes patiently explained and demonstratedhow to dance. The secret of bamboo dance was to follow the briskrhythm-opening, closing, opening, closing, opening, opening and closing.Excited participants followed the music and flexibly jumped across bamboosaccording to the rhythm. As the climax of bamboo dance came, people wereattracted by features and great fun of unique customs of Li Nationality.

Theboard shoes racing was conducted in teams of two. At the word of command, twoteams started at the same time and the one that successfully reached thedesignated location was deemed to win. This event tested the tacitunderstanding and cooperation between teammates. The board shoes racing won thefavor of parents and kids. The combination of father and son, mother anddaughter, and sisters added a bit of fun and excitement to the board shoesracing. Participants fastened the tying ropes on the board shoes, looking atthe end line confidently, shouted rhythms with their teammates, and proceededsteadily. The cheers went up at the scene one after another, adding a cheerfulatmosphere.

Whileshowing the charm of traditional ethnic sports, the minority fun games wouldhelp to promote traditional ethnic culture, enrich students’ campus life, anddeepen people’s understanding of traditional ethnic culture.
