A Mid-term Forum for Undergraduate Students of the First Term for the 2019-2020 Academic Year

In order to master the overall teaching situationin our school of Foreign Languages, strengthen the management of teachingprocess and monitor the teaching quality, and promote the construction ofteaching and study, according to the schedule, our institution held a mid-termforum of the first term for the 2019-2020 academic year at the conference roomon the 4th floor of the 10th teaching building on October 25th. Presentthe meeting were the vice dean of SFL Li Minjie,Deng Zhiyu, college supervisorYuan Xuefen,Liuxin, institution supervisor Wang Hongwei, Tu Shali, Chen Luoyu,Li Hong and the student representatives from each grade.

At the beginning of the meeting, vice dean Li Minjieproposed that the purpose of the forum is to strengthen teacher-studentexchanges, improve teaching standard, and effectively promote the steady andhealthy development of undergraduate teaching.The student representativesexpressed their satisfaction that the institution attached great importance toundergraduate teaching and constantly improved theteaching environment, and affirmed theinterest of teachers' teaching style and the diversity of teaching contents.atthe meantime, they also put forward their views and suggestions on the teachingprogress,class interaction, teaching equipment and so on.

Teachers who were present answered the questions raised by students. They saidthe teachers should create more opportunities and strengthen the students' oralEnglish practice to enlarge the students' language learning input.In addition,the teachers also emphasized that students should develop their awareness oflearning and learn to find opportunities and conditions to improve their ownlearning.And also,as for the freshmen,they should quickly adapt to the studyand life of the college and strengthen the communication with teachers.

The suggestions raised by students were meaningful and reflected a highsense of responsibility.The present leaders spoke highly of the seriousattitude during discussion,and said they would feed back the advice to therelevant teachers,in order to make adjustments of class andimprove the quality of teaching.At the sametime, it was emphasized that the institution attaches great importance to theundergraduate teaching, and expected the students would maintain communicationwith the teachers to promote and guarantee the improvement of the teachingquality.

This mid-term forum was a great success.It has provided an exchangeplatform for students and teachers, which plays an important role in enhancingteaching quality and advancing the further development of teaching.
